20/12/2018: Bracken House rooftop redevelopment leaves Citysquared feeling sky high!
We are thrilled to have recently completed a large rooftop development at Bracken House, London, for McLaren Construction. The scheme encompasses our Corian-clad steel planters at both floor- and seating levels, with a running track around the roof’s perimeter. There were a number of design challenges to overcome, but we think the scheme is a complete success. |

20/01/2016: Redcar’s Shoreline Park awash with Basic Inset benches
Citysquared recently had an outing to Redcar seaside to install a number of Basic Inset granite benches near to the shoreline. The combination of glorious sunshine, unseasonably warm weather and moody skies were the perfect backdrop for a couple of snaps of our grand day out. |

06/01/2016: Market Place, Brentford High Street... Landscape Architect wins award for urban design
We were very pleased to hear recently that Kinnear Landscape Architects had won both the Urban Design & Master Planning Award and the President’s Award from the Landscape Institute for their excellent work on the Brentford High Street Project. We became involved in the Market Place part of this scheme though Maylim Ltd who undertook the landscape work. Our role was to realise KLA's vision for the bespoke seating. 08/12/2015: The winds of change bring new benches to Sailmakers Shopping Centre
Ipswich’s Tower Ramparts Shopping Centre has recently embarked upon a new incarnation as Sailmakers Shopping Centre, all as part of a £4m rename and regeneration plan. Citysquared were happy to supply a number of seating products for the launch of its new-look revamp. The centre’s new design draws on the town's maritime heritage. |

09/09/2015: Curved Basic benches get some fresh Ayr
We recently supplied some curved Basic benches to St Luke's Primary School in North Ayrshire. The benches have graduating radii and form a small stepped amphitheatre that can be used as an external teaching space. We always like these nice little projects, hope the kids have fun using them. |

15/06/2015: Please look after these benches… New arrivals at Paddington Central, London
This week saw the unveiling of thirteen 3.4m bespoke Oak staple benches flanking the terraced amphitheatre at Sheldon Square, adjacent to Paddington Station. The Paddington Central Development is a mixture of business, residential and leisure destinations, boasting numerous restaurant and retail establishments. The space hosts a variety of annual events including music, food and vintage fairs. |

As the public space elements near completion on the Central Chelmsford scheme, we eagerly await the latest photos. Citysquared are delighted to have supplied a number of public furniture products to shopping centres up and down the country. The spree has seen Indie benches at The Galleries, Bristol, and Clarendon ‘S’ benches at Lincoln’s Waterside shopping centre. We have also supplied Petal Benches, bespoke planters and Deville litter bins to The Marlowes shopping centre, Hemel Hempstead. |

05/03/2014: Petal benches flourish at The Lanes Shopping Centre, Carlisle.
We were pleased to design and manufacture a number of bespoke ‘Petal’ benches for The Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle. The benches were supplied with and without backrests to cater for all of the centre’s visitors. These movable benches were designed to replace the existing static furniture, enabling them to easily clear the areas to make way for temporary events held at the centre. |

11/02/2014: Hitting the shops at the Harvey Centre, Harlow, Essex.
The Manderley seat was designed in response to a requirement for hardwearing seating products with a softer feel in shopping centres. The Harvey Centre opted for a grey frame with hardwearing pewter contract vinyl upholstery. The design’s fluid form and tactile materials make for a more enjoyable shopping experience. |

20/11/2013: Christmas comes early for Clarendon Square Shopping Centre.
Citysquared were thrilled to design and supply six bespoke benches to the Clarendon Square Shopping Centre in Hyde, Cheshire. The circular benches were designed to fit around the interior columns which support the centre’s glass roof, making the most of the available space. The benches were fabricated from stainless steel with curved Iroko hardwood seat slats, providing a comfortable and hardwearing seating solution for shoppers. |

12/07/2013: Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!
Citysquared’s Matchbox planter benches and backless Essentials benches are now enjoying the great British summer at Bournemouth seafront, with views of the bay across to the Isle of Purbeck. The items have been installed on the site of the former Waterfront Complex, which is set to become an open arts space in the coming months hosting live music and open air film nights. |

03/07/2013: Double seating success at The Guineas Shopping Centre.
Our Wideboy double sided benches have proven their popularity in shopping centres once again. A number of the benches were supplied to The Guineas Shopping Centre in Newmarket, Suffolk, alongside a number of tailor-made Essentials litter bins. The benches maximise the use of space, providing a hardwearing and comfortable resting and meeting spot. |

Citysquared were pleased to supply a number of large Essentials picnic benches, cantilevered seating, Jack Cube stools, cafe tables and chairs to the University for their large courtyard space. The colourful additions inject a modern vibrancy into the outdoor space at this hive of creativity. |

26/06/2013 : Deal Sea Wall awash with bespoke street furniture.
Citysquared were delighted to provide a range of bespoke curved benches to Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering, used to clad their new sea defence walls in Deal, Kent. The benches were designed to follow the undulating curves of the pre-cast walling, adding interest to, and softening the otherwise harsh seating provision. |

24/06/2013 : Jack Cube range brightens up summer.
Citysquared are excited to announce our new Jack Cube range, which has made its first appearance at The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey. We were delighted to supply a collection of exterior furniture to the University, which we hope to feature on our project page soon! The Jack Cube range consists of stools and planters, all available in a highly customisable powder coated finish alongside our standard stainless steel option. |

11/06/2013 : Wideboy seating a hit with shopping centres.
Our Wideboy seat is proving to be a great success with shopping centres around the UK. We were pleased to supply both timber and upholstered versions of the shopping centre seating to the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Meadowlane Shopping Centre and The Mall Shopping Centre, recently. The benches were designed to make the most of narrow indoor and outdoor shopping streets, providing seating for ten people. |

16/04/2013 : Citysquared delighted to help Wakefield Council’s schools.
As part of the council’s Castleford regeneration scheme they were looking to replace a number of children’s swivel seats, supplied by Citysquared in 2006, with fresh new products: http://www.wakefield.gov.uk/News/PressReleases/news/PR4071.htm. The old seats were looking tired but were in excellent working order, so we were only too pleased to give them a new lease of life by refurbishing them. Seven different schools have now benefitted from the seats; Wheldon Road Infants, Townville Infants, Airedale Juniors, Redhill Juniors, Park Juniors, Pathways School and Henry Moore Juniors, with each school receiving three products. |

03/10/2012 : Range of street furniture supplied to Westgate Shopping Centre, Aldershot.
We were delighted to supply a range of street furniture items for the recently completed Westgate shopping centre. The designers required bespoke tree planters, cycle stands and a selection of benches to populate the scheme’s open piazza, all of which were supplied by Citysquared. The retail complex, situated in Aldershot town centre, comprises a number of shopping and leisure venues including a Cineword cinema, Pizza Express, Travelodge, Morrisons, Frankie & Benny’s and Nando’s. |

06/09/2012 : Clay Cross, Chesterfield regeneration employs Citysquared Street Furniture.
This former mining village has recently undergone a huge regeneration to bring much improved facilities to the area. We were asked to supply and install a number of bespoke curved Bookend benches to surround a former mine air vent, providing a view over the new development. The multi-million pound regeneration scheme includes the construction of a new flagship Tesco Eco Superstore, retail units and a brand new bus station with improved transport facilities. |

04/09/2012 : Benches and planters for Leeds University’s Sentinel Towers student accommodation.
Citysquared were pleased to supply a number of Deville Planters and Basic benches for Sentinel Towers student accommodation, a stone’s throw from our office. Sentinel Towers offers en-suite accommodation close to the city centre, which is popular with postgraduates, international students, and students wanting a quieter environment to study in. |

This week saw the launch of our timber Wideboy seats as they set sail for the Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh. Once the royal residence for state visits, official receptions and royal excursions, the Britannia is now a five star visitor attraction and events venue. |

03/08/2012 : Citysquared benches crown Coronation Gardens at the North Wakefield Gateway.
Citysquared were delighted to provide a selection of special curved, straight and wall-mounted benches for Wakefield Council’s County Hall area of the city’s regeneration scheme. The site lies within a conservation area and is surrounded by a number of important listed buildings. Enhancements to the public spaces are the main aesthetic improvements, but are supported by improved transport links and traffic management systems for commuters, cyclists and pedestrians. |

01/08/2012 : Rossington Cricket seating breaks new ground.
Citysquared were delighted to be approached by Rossington Cricket Ground to supply a number of benches which could be fixed solidly into the soft grass surrounding the ground. We were only too happy to help; we used a number of spiral earth anchors to tether down our Essentials backless benches for the project. |

12/03/2012 : Playground benches supplied for Tidemill Academy’s exciting new exterior space.
We were thrilled to supply a large number of our backless Essentials Range benches to the Tidemill Academy in Deptford, London. They frame the exciting new playground areas whilst complimenting the timer cladding of the surrounding buildings. These benches are in addition to a range of products supplied for the surrounding urban area last year, including Oak cube seating and Basic benches fixed atop granite plinths at the school’s entrance. |

29/02/2012 : Citysquared are delighted to supply bespoke street furniture for the impressive Deal Porter Plaza, Canada Water, London.
We were delighted to be asked to supply a number of bespoke benches for Deal Porter Plaza in Canada Water, Southwark, London. The benches were designed to celebrate the thousands of workers employed as porters in the area to carry the Deal wood arriving from Canada at the docks. The benches emulate these stacks of timber in form and scale. We also supplied a number of our ever popular Deville tree planters to flank the quayside. |

Citysquared’s new Matchbox planter bench has made its first appearance at the University of West London, Ealing. Installed alongside litter bins and tree planters of the same range, the products make use of this large courtyard and compliment the surrounding architecture. |

07/09/2011 : Citysquared alter the fabric of Hello Stranger and Wideboy seats, as upholstered versions debut at The Ridings Shopping Centre, Wakefield.
We were delighted to be asked to adapt a number of our standard street furniture products for use in The Ridings Shopping Centre, Wakefield. The centre required an increased level of comfort for their shopper demographic, whilst not wanting to compromise on important factors such as ease of cleaning. Both our Hello Stranger bench and Wideboy seat received a makeover, adopting hard-wearing and extremely comfortable upholstered seat pads. |

05/09/2011 : Hazy Maze starts new school term at Rickley Park Primary School, Milton Keynes.
Citysquared were thrilled to see Hazy Maze come to life in Milton Keynes this summer. We were pleased to supply a number of shapes to the school in a polished black granite, which now sit to one side of the playground. 18/07/2011 : Marks & Spencer’s Greener Living Spaces programme calls on Citysquared for flagship regeneration project.
Citysquared were delighted to be asked by Groundwork Leeds to supply a range of bespoke street furniture for Victoria Gardens; a regeneration project in Leeds which was set to revamp the large plaza immediately outside Leeds Art Gallery. The project was funded by profits from Marks & Spencer‘s carrier bag sales and is the flagship project for their Greener Living Spaces initiative, which aims to create cleaner and greener living environments for communities. The site itself was chosen by Leeds City Council as a high-profile space within the city, and is used by many organisations and individuals.
