This seminar will look in detail at the practical considerations that surround a bespoke street furniture project. Starting with an overview of the interested parties’ typical concerns, the seminar will then look at how to develop a design approach. This will be done through an exploration of the arguments associated with techniques like Target Hardening and Place Making. The various stages of the project will then be discussed, focusing on elements such as; presentation techniques, models and mock ups, prototypes and project advocacy. Finally the session will look at some of the specific issues relating to the design of bespoke street furniture. This will include material and construction choices, anthropometrics, DDA, Health and Safety, durability and ongoing maintenance issues. |
